Matthew E. Hunt

Mr. and Mrs. L. Ross Hunt of
Pleasant Garden NC, parents and Norma R. Edwards, grandmother of Beverly Ma.
recently attended the graduation of their son, Pvt. Matthew E. Hunt from Marine
boot camp at Parris Island, SC. on September 3, 2010.
Pvt. Hunt spent 13 weeks of intense recruit training at the Marine Depot on
Parris Island. The culmination of recruit training is the Crucible, an intense
field training exercise designed to build unit cohesion, reinforce core values,
and complete the transformation from recruit to Marine. The Crucible is the
defining moment of the recruit training experience. As a right of passage, the
45 Concepts and Issues Crucible is a 54-hour ordeal that tests the mettle of
every recruit (and DI).
